If you haven't been across the way
Where every morning brings a new day,
it will come to you as surprise:
Sunrise.
Yellows and greens in seasons of light,
rob the darkness of all its sight.
Flowers of orange and pink
will bloom.
The winter brings all kinds of icy blues,
a crisp and sharp beauty that will change your view.
For if you come and see the fallen trees,
The beginning sparks.
You have never heard
the chirping of birds,
the whisper of song,
and holy words.
Where the gathering of stills
and wealthy silence
create a sound
that is heard for miles.
Contrary to what you believe
this quarantine is quite a relief.
Integration with nature,
look up.
Ice is unseen
but very revealing
below is serene
below is healing
You would never understand
being a flower among snow
Now is the time to glow.
Lost in the snow
to milky white depths
victory against sickness
Wandering from sadness,
Running from scars,
You stumble upon this place,
And gaze upon stars
With knowledge you’ve never held
knifing light is your Northern Star
Retreat from arrhythmic reality
and find who you really are
Everything is in the open
although out of view
just pay attention,
you’ll receive good news.
The overcast rests assured
from this nurturing air,
Slumber is inevitable
on this island so fair.
This haven is a place
familiar only to me.
your island is elsewhere,
Adrift on the breeze.
You’re not from here
but you understand
how it feels
in your holy land
You may be unaware
of the omniscient heaven
shielding the sun’s eyes
from looking upon us men
I don’t fear the water,
I peer on below,
there is far more occurring,
than our eyes can show.
You won’t know this road
like a river that has flowed
Through earth’s skin
and washed away sin
The one in my mind
Is all I leave behind
Give way to what lies ahead,
Free instead
My grand design has let me know
of this place that I once called home
where I learned of golden skies
The crimson sunrise.
It beats us down and fractures us, it plays upon our fear
And though we try and fail to fight, with rage and many tears
Immobilizing us from life, a different kind of heart attack
And drowns us deep from every source, through every pore and crack
It swallows us, consumes us whole, the omnipresent black
But this is not the end
It echoes in the universe, a voice as old as time
The mantra on the lips of those pure of heart, and divine
It booms down on high, from towers tall, with considerable might
“Whatever in darkness causes pain and sows the seeds of fright
Will be brought forth out from its hole, pierced through and through with light”
lyrics
Chasing sunsets for awhile
Casting shadows for a mile
Leaving footprints in the dust
Blood red haze in my horizon
Will I ever close my eyes and
See a place where I belong
I've spent a long time wondering
On this long and lonely road
Left my window open for awhile
Darkness looked in, with a smile
Told me I was in for a surprise
A Monet Sunrise
Something that you've never seen before
See it now or close the door
You don't want to miss the sky
A Monet Sunrise
I set out on a beaten path
Maybe it'll help me forget my past
More and more of the same
Gotta make a name for myself
Without charity or more help
It'll be better in the end
I've spent a long time wondering
On this long and lonely road
Left my window open for awhile
Darkness looked in, with a smile
Told me I was in for a surprise
A Monet Sunrise
Something that you've never seen before
See it now or close the door
You don't want to miss the sky
A Monet Sunrise
I've spent a long time wondering
On this long and lonely road
Left my window open for awhile
Darkness looked in, with a smile
Told me I was in for a surprise
A Monet Sunrise
Something that you've never seen before
See it now or close the door
You don't want to miss the sky
A Monet Sunrise
